Fox Sparrows were also around and I heard at least 4 calling or singing. Just after sunset a flock of about 25 Canvasbacks flew over fairly low in a line abreast. The first Woodcock was heard about 7:40PM. Only two were displaying tonight. One I saw in flight twice while it was displaying, the other on the ground after one of its flights.

Had you walked the Stony Creek side of the Stoney Beach community, you
would have seen about 200 ruddy ducks in the cove near Orchard Beach.
Also, there has been a single male American wigeon "grazing" with the
mallards on- and off'-shore near the beach (Stoney Beach) for over a
week. Happy birding,
