  Hughes Hollow
  Myself and two birding neighbors went out to Hughes Hollow in the afternoon. Dogs were training, so birds were reclusive. Managed to see:
  1 Green Heron 
  1 Barred Owl (heard)
  2 American Coots
  Canada geese (pair with  young)
  2 red shouldered Hawks
  1 Accp. sp.
  Turkey Vulture
  Black Vulture
  Swamp Sparrow
  B/g Gnatcatcher
  White thrt sparrow
  white eyed vireo
  Mockingbird
  Red wing blackbird
  Starlings
  Grackles
  1 Pileated Woodpecker
  N.Flicker
  Red bellied Woodpecker
   
  Pennyfield LK C&0 canal
   
  Yellow rumped Warbler (several)
  1 BLUE HEADED VIREO
  1 Palm Warbler
  1-2 Wood ducks
  Blue gray gnatcatchers
  Northern Cardinal, Chickadees,Titmice
  Great Blue Heron
  DC Cormorants 4
  Turkey Vulture
   
  Great Falls Park:
  Purple Grackles (many)
  1 Common Crow
  2 Bald Eagles (one on Conn Is.nest/other perched upriver)
  1 Parula Warbler (male)
  1 Blue gray gnatcatcher
  2 Mallards
  Great Blue Herons several (rookery still visible accross river)
  Canada Geese (several)
