This morning my friend Chris Murray and I drove from historic
Annapolis to Carroll County in order to participate in fellow Severna
Park High School graduate Bob Ringler's trip through the Patapsco
Valley's McKeldin Area. This is my report. Bob's, and the many
others we met this morning, may report other species that I might have
missed. It was great to finally meet a CERULEAN. Thank you Bob!

Later, a few of us went out in search of some CLIFF SWALLOWS. After
checking two nesting locations, our search resulted in a Barn Swallow
and the 'ugh' of watching a House Sparrow move into a CLIFF SWALLOW'S
old nest. However, on the trip home to Annapolis on Route 32, we
crossed over the bridge yet again. I noticed a few swallows flying
over the bridge, so I made a third stop and pulled out the scope.
Soon a pair of CLIFF SWALLOWS appeared with two Chimney Swifts. A
very nice life bird.

As we were leaving, Chris Murray spotted a raptor on the power lines
on Route 32 (while exiting off of River Road). I grabbed my camera
and got some shots of my FOY BROAD-WINGED HAWK.
