I spent an hour or so at Constitution Gardens this morning before work. I was
surprised to find a late SLATE-COLORED JUNCO feeding amongst a few White-
Throated Sparrows on the ground right next to the DC War Memorial.
Otherwise, it was a relatively quiet morning on the mall, with only a few
warblers, including at least one BLACKPOLL, at least four AMERICAN
REDSTARTS, several NORTHERN PARULAS, and the usual MYRTLE WARBLERS. I
also found an ORCHARD ORIOLE and a RED-EYED VIREO.
