I know a biologist in Argentina who specializes in the
Red Knot so sent her Sean's website. This is her
response.
WOW! Thank you!!
The one with orange flag on left tibia (ELN) and white
ring in left tarsus (and metal band in right tibia)
was banded by us in Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego) in
november 2006. Orange flags mean banded in Argentina
The one with lyme flag was banded in Delaware Bay, but
I can´t know when bcs the picture shows only left
tibia. I will try to find the banded day and place to
let you know. (lyme and green flags mean banded in
USA) Red flags means banded in Chile and white flags
banded in Canada
Both birds are in low condition, probably they´ve just
arrived after a long trip from South America. If I can
find more data from those birds I will contact you
again
It is very important to us to recieve as much
information of banded red knots The pictures are
great, I can read some numbers in the metal ring!
I´m sending a copy of this message to the email
address I´ve found in his website. Thank you Sean!
Now in Delaware Bay, one of my friends and fellow
biologist from here, is working with the red knots, so
I will send her this info too
Hugs
