Ospreyers,

Alas, I have one more edit to my earlier post.

I am retracting my sighting of a YELLOW THROATED WARBLER in Garrett on
Sunday. No one emailed me to question it, it's just that I've been
doing some research and this bird is quite rare out there. And while
I really do think I saw one, (I was actually chasing through the trees
going down the first trail off of West Shale Road for a photo), it was
ALSO just before the moment when I met the BEAR. I heard this bird
'slow down at the end' song and even got a brief view of it in my
bins. However, the events that occurred moments after the initial
sighting prevented both a photograph and my further investigation. In
other words, I turned around and headed back to the safety of the
road.

eBird is a wonderful tool. If anyone is on West Shale Road this week,
near New Germany State Park, please investigate. And if you don't
mind, tell the bear I said hello.

Good Birding,

Dan Haas
West Annapolis, MD
