I briefly birded my work location in South Baltimore along the Middle Branch of
the Patapsco this afternoon and was surprised to see quite a few flycatchers
in a relatively small area. Unfortunately, most were the non-singing Empid
variety. I don't bird with binoculars while at work (because I don't usually have
them), which makes identification challenging.
Standing in one spot, I had:
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 3
Empid sp. - 5
LEAST FLYCATCHER - 1 (nice size and shape comparison next to other Empids)
Other niceities included:
Osprey - 1
Green Heron - 2
Cedar Waxwing - 12
Common Yellowthroat - 1M
Orchard Oriole - 2
Happy birding! dcs
