Hello everyone,

This evening around 6:30 PM, two Cattle Egrets were
foraging in a farm field near my house in Damascus,
MD, close to the line between Montgomery and Frederick
Counties (on the Montgomery County side). My husband
and I turned around and drove by again twice just for
a better look -- one was in full breeding plumage,
while the other showed just a tinge of orangish color
on the head. These were a life bird for me!

By the time we returned home later in the evening,
both Cattle Egrets had disappeared, and all of the
cows and sheep had moved further back in the fields,
out of sight. Hopefully the egrets went with them and
will stick around for at least another day or two. :)

On another note, Blackpoll Warblers were singing in my
yard this evening, as well as on my way to work both
yesterday morning and this morning.
