Hi Everyone,

Today Sam Dyke found a nice gathering of shorebirds in the fields on Laws Rd in Wicomico County. Carol and I were able to go check them out this evening from 7:00-7:45:

Black-bellied Plover--258
Semipalmated Plover--4
Killdeer--2
Short-billed Dowitcher--8
Dunlin--21
Least Sandpiper--4
Semipalmated Sandpiper--1
Ruddy Turnstone--4

The birds were about a mile south of Wango Rd where Laws Rd curves to the east near Beech Island Creek (MD/DE DeLorme Atlas p. 34). The Black-bellied Plovers were spread out on both sides of the road; the Ruddy Turnstones were together on the NE side; and a puddle on the SW side provided nice views of the dowitchers, dunlin, and peeps. Laws Rd can be reached by following Mt Hermon Rd (Rt 350) from Salisbury toward Powellville. Laws Rd is on the right a few miles past the Salisbury Airport. Thanks, Sam!

Have fun,
