Sunday, we kayaked up Parkers Creek to the now-breached beaver dam (we were on the creek 1045 to 1400 EDT). Highlights were:
Yellow-Crowned Night Heron 1 (2nd calendar-yr bird, which we watched for over a half hour as it foraged along the edge of the creek to the west of the pilings of the former bridge).
Mississippi Kite 1 (adult, passed overhead N-bound, c 1-km in from the Bay);
Willow Flycatcher 1 calling from shrubs to E of creek, c 100 m downstream from beaver dam;
Prothonotary Warbler 2 males (wet woods in vicinity of former bridge);
Seemingly fewer than usual numbers of Marsh Wrens, but that may have been the time of day or the breeze.
