Hi All,
I started this am at McKeldin in hope for Kentucky Warbler, Mourning
Warbler and other missing links on my yearlist. The local nesters were
actively singing but few migrant warblers were apparent.

Highlights PVSP, McKeldin Area, Carroll Co.:
Green Heron--1
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron--1 adult
Gray-cheeked Thrush--1
Cerulean Warbler--4 singing males
Yellow-throated Warbler--1 singing male
Worm-eating Warbler--2 singing males
Louisiana Waterthrush--5 singing males
Orchard Oriole--1 yearling male

I quickly headed north toward Soldier's Delight along Wards Chapel Rd but
slowed down and rolled the window down whenever I passed suitable Kentucky
Warbler habitat, and to my surprise it worked! About a mile after crossing
Liberty Rd. and before the bridge, I heard the distinct song of a KENTUCKY
WARBLER. I pulled over and got some decent looks at my very first visual
encounter with the species.

At soldier's Delight it quickly became apparent that nearly all the great
migrants that had been lingering there over the last week had moved on. I
hiked around the Serpentine Trail loop and the woods were very quiet,
except for the usual Pine Warblers, Prairies, Chats, Hoodeds, Towhees and
Field Sparrows. Only non-resident warblers present were two or three
singing Blackpolls.

It felt like the day after christmas indeed!
