This morning I spent a couple of hours at Middle Patuxent
Environmental Area in Howard County. As others have noted,
migrants were sparse. Aside from a Swainson's Thrush and a
few Blackpoll Warblers, I saw and/or heard mainly resident birds.
The best bird was a KENTUCKY WARBLER singing quite close
to the loop trail (a short distance before the side trail that goes off
to the right by marker #2). I even got a quick glimpse of him before
he did the disappearing act. I also heard a LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH singing from the small stream near the road.

I guess it's time to start paying attention to my badly neglected
garden.
