With about twenty minutes to spare, my wife and I arrived at our
destination just a tad too early last night. What better way to spend
twenty minutes as a couple than birding? Ok, well, my wife Emery
thought getting a ginger ale at the store sounded preferable. We
managed to accomplish both goals.

We found this little tiny park on New Cut Road, about a half mile
before it splits with Gambrills Road. In only ten minutes, we had
CANADA, MAGNOLIA, YELLOW WARBLERS and COMMON YELLOWTHROAT. It took
everything I had to not be late to our event.

It was the best ten minutes I'd spent all day, with the only possible
exception being the already mentioned ALDER FLYCATCHER yesterday
morning at Greenbury Point. Warren Strobel (of The Bird Couple Blog
fame), Ross Geredien (of Good Migrations Photography fame) and Andy
Sprenger (of Caffe Pronto Coffee fame) joined in that fun.

Finally, there were six loud bright blue and yellow birds spotted
flying low and fast all over Annapolis yesterday from about 2 to
2:30pm. Yes, the Blue Angels. They woke up just about every bird in
West Annapolis yesterday afternoon. So much for the old afternoon
siesta.

Good Birding,
