Hubick strikes again!

I would not want to let this site deteriorate into an on-going photogtaphy
contest, but comparing his shots with Mark Hoffman's of the Henslow's
Sparrows (Pea Ridge vs Old Legislative Road) I think Bill managed to nail
the bird at a better angle. However Mark scored bonus points by getting his
in the act of singing (if you can call what this bird does "singing"). Both
sets of shots are very excellent work and applause to both.

However Bill gets another round of standing ovations for the Golden-winged
Warbler. This bird is getting hard to find (Laura and I whiffed on it on our
recent trip to Garrett) and to get 2 photos like that is, as Billy Crystal
would say, "Mahvalus". With the capital M.

Henslow's seem to be evolving toward being more show-offy. Yes, folks even
though I just invented it, you can use that word at no charge. David Quammen
refers to tameness in animals as them being "ecologically naive". Example:
Chickadees - I had one land on my fly rod once while I was changing flies. I
keep the reel end tucked under my arm while I do this and the rest of the 7'
rod sticks out in front of me. Henslow's might not be acting like chickdees
but they posed nicely for Mark and Bill and in our scope at Pea Ridge. It's
like the start of a new era.

Keep the photos coming guys.

Carroll County and the southern most part of the northeast tip of somewhere
in Outer Henslonia. That's between Chicago and Illinois. I think. I'm
somewhat geographically challenged. I thought Old Legislative Road must be
in downtown DC near the Congressional Pool. (Or is that Reflecting
Building?) But it's not.
