Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from May 29,  2008

            This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot
County, who continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul
Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island. 
            These sightings include the birds seen on May 29, 2008.  Some of
the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from Tilghman Island and
back. 
	
	Note the presence of  Red-breasted Merganser, Ruddy Duck, Virginia
Rail, RuddyTurnstone, White-rumped Sandpiper, Laughing Gull and Seaside
Sparrow.  Also note the numbers of Semipalmated Sandpipers.
	Weather: Clear am, few clouds pm    Temp range 61-78 degrees  F
