My wife and I went to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens this morning (Sat 6/7) and
found at least one Alder Flycatcher still present. It was out across the marsh
from the left viewing platform. It was pretty distant, but we did eventually get
looks of it singing from the top of a low tree. It was singing consistently during
the 45 minutes or so we were there (8:45-9:30), but it never came any closer.
We also saw 2 or 3 other Willow/Alder flycatchers in the closer clumps of low
trees/shrubs, but they weren't singing or calling, so we couldn't be sure of an
ID. A couple of times we thought we heard a snippet of a distant (Willow) Fitz-
bew, but we were never sure in amongst all the closer noise from the
blackbirds, cardinals, chickadees, etc.
We didn't spend a lot of time looking for anything else, but here is what we
identified along the marsh trail:
European Starling
Canada Goose
Common Grackle
Song Sparrow
Northern Parula
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Great Blue Heron
Green Heron
Northern Cardinal
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Acadian Flycatcher (heard)

Common Yellowthroat (heard)

Baltimore Oriole
ALDER FLYCATCHER
Carolina Chickadee

Barn Swallow
Indigo Bunting
Mallard
Yellow-billed Cuckoo (heard)
Tufted Titmouse
Northern Mockingbird
American Crow
Good birding,
