I joined Joel Martin at Fort McHenry about 1PM and stayed to about 1:45 watching the White Pelican perched and swimming in the area near the Fairfield Auto Terminal. Another shipload of cars was arriving and obscured the posts for a few minutes but the pelican remained there. The distance is about a mile from Whetstone Point at Fort McHenry and you can see the bird with binoculars but a telescope is needed to identify it. As I was leaving the parking lot Hank Kaestner arrived.
