You never know what you are you are going to find when you do your evening
walk.
Tonight it was a show pigeon ... at least that is what I believe it is. I
spotted it on the ground, walked up to it but it flew about 50 feet and
settled down. My wife and I continued our walk, turned around and headed
home. I spotted the pigeon again, walked over to it and picked it up. It
was very thin and did not struggle. I carried it home, put it in a large
cage that I have and fed it. It has been stuffing itself for at least 5
minutes.
This is a beautiful bird ... white head and chest ... a few black flecks on
its face ... its back is gray and white with its feathers tipped in black.
The tail is gray with one whitish band near the end and then tipped in
black. It has feathers on its feet.
I am reluctant to release it after it recovers because I am not certain it
can survive on its own, especially considering its thinness now.
Does anyone know a pigeon afficionado who might be interested in a new bird?
I live on the Eastern Shore near Queenstown/Centreville/Prime Outlets.
Many thanks
