   Catching up on three weeks of local birding with only the highlights:

June 3 at Morgan Run NEA - Warblers: 1 Blue-winged, 1 Parula, 6 Prairie, 1 Redstart, 1 Worm-eating, 2 Ovenbird, 1 Louisiana Waterthrush, 2 Kentucky, 20 Yellowthroat, 1 Hooded, and 1 Chat. Also 1 Veery and 1 Blue Grosbeak

June 4 in NW Carroll Co. - 6 Kestrels at different sites, 4 Red-headed Woodpeckers at different sites, 6 Vesper Sparrows (1 Sixes Bridge Rd, 4 Keysville-Frederick Co. Rd, 1 Benson Rd), 10 Grasshopper Sparrows, 5 Bobolinks (1 Hyser Rd, 4 Keysville-Bruceville Rd)

June 12 at Hashawha - 4 Veeries, Warblers: 1 Blue-winged, 1 Parula, 1 Yellow, 1 Redstart, 8 Ovenbird, 3 Louisiana Waterthrush, 4 Yellowthroat

June 12 at Liberty Lake from Oakland Road - 1 immature Common Loon, 4 immature Double-crested Cormorants

June 15 during the Warfieldsburg BBS - 1 Savannah Sparrow on Oak Tree Rd, a pair of Blue Grosbeaks on Arthur Shipley Rd

June 18 at Liberty Lake off Bollinger Mill Rd - 1 adult Pied-billed Grebe (no nest records), Warblers: 3 Parula, 1 Pine, 1 Black-&-white, 3 Worm-eating, 3 Ovenbird, 2 Louisiana Waterthrush, 2 Kentucky, 1 Hooded

June 21 at Liberty Lake off Deer Park Rd - Warblers: 1 Parula, 2 Pine, 2 Black-&-white (male agitated, female carrying food), 2 Ovenbird

June 22 at Union Mills Wetland - 1 Green Heron, no rails, 3 Swamp Sparrows

June 23 at Piney Run Park - 1 Osprey (no nest records for Carroll Co.)

June 24 at Piney Run Park - 1 immature Common Loon

June 24 at New Windsor Wetland (with Stan Arnold) - 6 Green Herons, 13 Killdeer (first sign of post-breeding flocking). The habitat is perfect for shorebirds but it will probably be dry in a few weeks

June 24 on Wilt Rd - 1 Vesper Sparrow
