Hello all,
After a month of no sounds or sight of yellow-billed cuckoos at Greenbury Point this year, I both heard and saw one this morning singing boldly from the very top of a 40' cherry tree at the edge of the mowed grass near the beginning of the central road through the field to the towers. I have always associated the adjective clandestine with the cuckoo. In the past I have only seen cuckoos in trees, never on them. Particularly when calling they always seem to call from the hands of the clock, (so to speak), and never from the numbers.
I take this to be an exception. Has anyone else experienced this?
