This morning I took an early morning walk along the fireroad at Prettyboy. There are several birds I am now great at id-ing by sound. The Louisanna Waterthrush, Ovenbird, Northern Parula, Scarlet Tanagers, Wood Pewee, House Wrens, Carolina Chickadee, Titmouse and the Veery. In The watershed area I walk in there seems to be abundant amount of all of these birds. I also heard an Eagle maybe the juvenile I have seen in the past. I saw a Hawk flying off a nest right near the fireroad, I was surprised I have missed this nest on previous outings. I am not sure if it was a hawks nest or another nest being raided by the hawk. Maybe a squirrels nest? I also heard a Cuckoo in the distance.

One question if someone might have an answer I heard a bird sound something similiar to first part of the White Throated Sparrow's song. Is there such a bird song?

Yesterday, we came home from a two day trip to Deep Creek and Garrett County. I was surprised to see the Red Breasted Nuthatch in a place called the Cranesville Swamp not far from Swallow Falls. Is this were they go when they leave my yard? I saw quite a few of them. I was hoping to see a Saw Whet Owl but no luck on that quest.

We also made a quick stop at the Finzel Swamp...I just had to after reading so much about the place. It was very foggy so now I must go back. I am not an expert but I thought I caught a quick glance at a bird that looked similiar to the Little Blue heron? It was the size of one and looked the color of one, is it possible?
