This morning I was out for my early morning walk on the fireroad at Prettyboy. I did not hear the usual Veery's, Ovenbirds and Northern Parulas as much as on my previous walks. Could they have left already?

I did hear the Acadian Flycatcher, the Least and the Yellow Bellied Flycatcher also the Wood Pewee. There were the cute sounds of the Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers. There were the usual woodpeckers.. the Downies, and the Pileated and the Red Bellied. The Scarlet Tanagers still seem to be around and quite a few of them in various spots along the fireroad. At one point during my walk I heard a group of Crows causing a loud raucous. Could it have been something else lurking about beside me.. a Hawk or the Owl I've been seeing in the past.

I was almost postive I heard the sounds Golden Crown Kinglets, is it too early for them to be here? Or is there another bird that makes their similiar sound.

Back at the end of my driveway I saw and heard two Wood Thrushes in the trees across the street. In my own yard I did hear at least one Northern Parula and the sounds of the Scarlet Tanager, Gray Catbirds, Titmouse, American Goldfinches, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpeckers, Carolina Chickadees, Cardinals, Bluejays, Eastern Bluebirds, House and Carolina Wrens, Brown Headed Cowbirds, House Sparrows and Mourning Doves. In the watershed trees across from our driveway I saw what looked like a young Red Shouldered Hawk flying away. While sitting on my deck I was trying to focus on a Cardinal in my weeping cherry tree but another bird showed up and surprised me. I am not sure but it looks like an Ovenbird but maybe it could be a Thrush. If someone could help with the id a picture link is below.
