This poor mourning dove has been around my feeders for a few weeks. He has what appears to be tumors on his beak, large deep set eyes and missing feathers and sores on his head. These pictures were taken last weekend, but he has gotten much worse since then. His beak and head now appear to have open sores and the "tumors" are larger. I have seen the effect of feather mites on birds, but have not seen anything like this. Anyone have any information on what might be plaguing this poor bird. It's so sad. Also, he's always by himself, never with the other doves (strange).
