This morning at Anacostia Park in southeast dc I saw a Black-crowned Night
Heron fishing with the Great Blues. The fish were jumping all over the river
it looked like quite a delicious buffet (if you ignore the trash)! I also
saw a lone Laughing gull foraging on a mud flat nearby. At Fort Dupont there
also was a very agitated White-eyed Vireo feeding a fledgling between
yelling at me. Not as bizarre as a Horned Lark at Kenilworth, but my luck is
terrible lately.

On another note, I'm thinking of heading to the beach this weekend because
truth be told I've never visited the delmarva eastern shore to look for
birds. Anyone have any suggestions for some fun birdy areas that are camp
friendly (or nearby friendly) that arn't Assateague? Suggestions are very
appreciated.
