They must be dispersing now. This morning I saw my first post breeder at the "Recycle Pad" pond at the Brown Station Rd landfill in Upper Marlboro (PG County). A nice immature LBHE was circling there and calling. Also present were one Green Heron, 2 GBHEs, one Great Egret, two groups of Wood Ducks, and about 6 Killdeer. The pond was full of algae and had very little open water.
I also heard a N. Bobwhite calling, plus the usual songbirds that are normally present there.
If you go to look, remember it is not open to public for hiking or whatever - you have to look from the parking area by the newspaper receptacle. A scope is not essential but helps to identify smaller birds if present.
