I received some inquiries asking if there will be another opportunity to see the Least Bitterns. I have a couple of hours available Saturday morning, so I am extending this second invitation. If you want to attempt to see the Least Bitterns at the Little Patuxent Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve, I will be at the entrance on Oxbow Place at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday (Aug 9th). I will lead you to the spot from where you might see the Least Bitterns.
If you have a scope, you'll want to bring it to see into the middle of and back into the nooks and cranies of the 75 acre lake.
For anyone who hasn't seen Trumpeter Swan #960, you'll probably see him, too. I can also show you around the trails if anyone wishes to check them out.
Anyone who wants to come is welcomed. I posted directions last week. You can also search the archives to find previous postings about the Oxbow.
