Hi all --

Pretty quiet and slow today at Rock Creek Park DC. Most of the action seemed
to be in the Maintenance Yard, which had a collection of hopeful birders. No
Golden-winged (not unexpectedly) but somewhat redeemed by a very cooperative
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER which sat up in the famous vine tangle for a good
preen, showing off all its features including its remarkably yellow
underwing area. Probably a juvenile -- buffy wingbars, short tail,
fresh-looking plumage (adults would look worn now, they molt on their
wintering grounds after migration). The other main action was a squabbling
group of Baltimore Orioles. (Addenda are welcome)

WARBLERS (species reflect everyone's sightings):
Black-throated Blue - 1, female
Black-and-white - 2
Blackburnian - 1
Blue-winged - 3, one immature
Am. Redstart - 1
Wormeating - 1

OTHER MIGRANTS:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 6
Yellow-billed Cuckoo - 1, heard only
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER - 1
Great Crested Flycatcher - 2
Eastern Wood-pewee - 8
Eastern Phoebe - 2
Wood Thrush - 1, heard only
Red-eyed Vireo - 5
Yellow-throated Vireo - 2, at one time they were both singing
Scarlet Tanager - 3
House Wren - 5
Gray Catbird - 6
Chipping Sparrow - 3
Indigo Bunting - 1
Baltimore Oriole - ~8
