Hi all,
Yesterday about mid-afternoon, while taking a short break from work, I was
sitting on my shop step, searching the skies for birds. I saw a distant
soaring hawk, identified it as a Cooper's, watched it fly high, lazy circles for a
bit, then was amazed to see it being dive-bombed by a high flying
hummingbird. A short time later, the same hawk (now lower over the backyard and easily
id'ed as an adult) was again being harassed by a hummer. Only once before have
I seen a hummer attack a hawk in flight, a Red-shouldered that time.

Feisty little guys!
