Last evening (8/23) from about 6:45- 8:00PM, I birded the North Branch of
the C&O Canal just minutes from my home in Cumberland. There wasn't too much
activity, but there were two birds of note. Amid the canopy overhanging the
road leading to the tarps was a single WORM-EATING WARBLER. Also, feeding on
the tarps was a lone juvenile AMERICAN COOT, presumably a migrant.
