Hi Everyone,

I posted Paul Bystrak's photo of the strange plover at the following URL:

While drinking my coffee this morning (8/27), three BOBOLINKs flew over my yard in Pasadena, Anne Arundel Co. Also nice were an adult and juvenile CASPIAN TERN that made several passes over the house, calling.

Becky and I watched the immature WHITE IBIS fly a circuit over the back of the main impoundment at Hughes Hollow at 6:45 p.m. yesterday (8/26), then head to roost to the south. Dave Young had the bird feeding near the dyke in the main impoundment before we arrived. We also met Daniel Parsons there--a two life birder day. The polo fields held 30+ KILLDEER and many HORNED LARKs, but no Upland Sandpipers.

Becky and I ended the day with dinner along the Potomac at Violette's Lock. A COMMON NIGHTHAWK joined the swarms of swallows at dusk.

Good birding!

Bill
