Thank you George for posting this.  I did manage to get down that direction today.  There was one other birder there.  Together, we managed to locate only 1 Buff-breasted Sandpiper in amoungst the flock of Killdeer.  Not the greatest look in the world, but good enough.  Your directions were spot on and easy to get to, especially as I can't seem to find my map book.

Folks

Today, while birding with Gwen Brewer and John Hubbell, I found three
Buff-breasted Sandpipers on the turf farm along the north side of Morgantown
Road, Charles County, Maryland near Wayside. The best viewing point was from
Beach Haven Rd., which is at the end of Morgantown Rd. Drive down Morgantown
Rd. from Rt. 257 for several miles from Rt. 301, and at the delicatessen on the
left slow down and turn right onto Morgantown Rd. Continue on Morgantown Rd
until you see the Potomac River. The road will turn right at the river, and at
the top of the short hill is Beach Haven on your right. Drive about 1/4 mile to
the turn on Beach Haven and scan the turf farm. The farm is private property so
please don't trespass. The birds were at a distance but easily viewable
with a scope. I got recognizable images for species #287 for 2008 photographed.
Not pretty but identifiable. The poor quality image will be posted later today
after my nap.

These birds may represent the third county record for this species. Go to
