Hi all --

Things are slowing down after the major bird movement of two days ago, and the day also shut down early. We started down in the Equitation Field, moved up to the Ridge -- skipped the Maintanence Yard and did Military Field (aka dog run). We were joined by Wallace Kornack, Jim Lermert and Margorie Rachlin for a while and then they went over to the Yard. Thus I expect some addenda to this list...!

Things were deathly quiet for about 20 minutes, suddenly there was an influx of birds, many rapidly passing through, and then it got deathly quiet again! When we got up to the Ridge it was birdless, so we were about to jump in our car and leave when again, a bird flock came in. This probably happened everywhere. Expect it to be even slower tomorrow, until the next cold front...

Birds seen included:

Warblers:
Blackburnian - 2
Black-and-White - 6
Black-throated Blue - 5 (most at Walking Stick berries)
Chestnut-sided - 6
Magnolia - 4
Redstart - 4
Tennessee - 1
Yellowthroat - 12

Other migrants:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 4
Eastern Kingbird - 1
Wood-pewee - 10 (or more)
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER - 1, Equitation Field, very bright young bird,
Empid sp. - 2, one appeared Traill's-type from brief views, one odd-ball that could have been another, worn Yellow-bellied but we never saw it well enough
Red-eyed Vireo - ~15 to 18
Yellow-throated Vireo - 2 at Ridge, one singing
Baltimore Oriole - 2
Chipping Sparrow - 3
