Folks

I am still doing my BIG Photo year. I am currently at 287 species photographed during 2008. Below is my wishlist for the remaining year. My goal is to see if 300 species can be photographed in a calendar year in Maryland. I might make it. I am posting as time permits the images for 2008, some not so good, some very nice, on my website: www.georgejett.net.

Look at the wishlist and if you can help that will be appreciated. I have also included some possible dates when to target species. If you find anything on this list I would appreciate a listserve post or contact me at If the species is real rare like Western Kingbird and generally a one-day wonder, call me on the cellphone at 301-752-9240. I have identified call birds by "*". I will chase any Western Meadowlark or any other quality bird like that as well.

I have been getting an incredible amount of help from a number of birders and will acknowledge all of them at the end of the year. This has turned into a large group effort thanks to them, and the real reason I might make my goal - or better.

I am doing this as a fund raising effort for the American Bird Conservancy. If you are interested in supporting this fund raising effort, contact me off line. Donations can be similar to birdathon rules: a per species donation, or a lump sum.

Thanks in advance.

George
