I had a very brief look at a warbler on the edge of the woods behind
our house this evening. It was gray above and had gray wings with two
distinct yellow wing bars. It was all white underneath. There was
some sort of pattern on the face and top of its head, but I didn't get
a chance to really register what it was. I don't think the pattern
had much dark in it. What I've found that most resembles what I saw
is the Brewster's backcross adult male illustrated in Sibley. Is
there anything else I should consider?
I also saw an American redstart, a black and white warbler, and a
pileated woodpecker. Nothing was interested in giving me anything
more than short views, however.
