Hi Everyone,

I spent Sunday (9/14) birding Frederick and Carroll Counties with Jim Brighton, Tom Feild, Ron Gutberlet, John Hubbell, Mikey Lutmerding, and Matt Tillett. Migrant flocks were spread thinly, but persistence ultimately turned up 16 species of warbler including CAPE MAY, BAY-BREASTED, TENNESSEE, and WESTERN PALM. Other highlights included SEVEN high-flying migrant RED-HEADED WOODPECKERs at Lilypons and a SORA at the New Windsor Wetland. Top non-avian honor goes to a LONG-TAILED SKIPPER spotted by Tom Feild at Lilypons, probably the second county record after Matt Hafner's September 2007 sighting at this location. Unfortunately no photos were obtained of the latter. Below are the abridged lists:
