In the same spot that I saw RB Grosbeaks yesterday, a large (presumably female) adult Peregrine falcon perched above the Ben Cardin picnic area this morning. I did not see any grosbeaks, but lots of Blue Jays, robins and flickers. A flicker perched next to the falcon for a bit and I noticed that the falcon was much bigger, but apparently not hungry. I returned after a long walk and concluded that the falcon had perched on the same bare limb for 90 minutes, before it changed limbs. This dead tree looms over the historic ice house which sits next to the Ben Cardin pavilion.
