Activity was thin and spotty but enjoyable this morning and early this afternoon at Ladew. A red-shouldered hawk buzzed over my head. A carolina wren was singing as tho it had been kicked btw the legs, and one buzzy vocalization sounded like drunken bt greens.
Some other birds: female sc tanager, swainson's thrush, various flycatchers (nothing unusual), singing white-eyed vireo, bluebirds.
Warblers: chestnut, maggie, black and white, bt green, c yellowthroat, parula, bt blue.
As nice as anything were the flowers in the fields filled with huge numbers and varieties of bee, wasp, and butterfly--and loads of grasshoppers.
At the end, I enjoyed a sandwich at the little cafe while watching some bluebirds and a bt blue. That Ladew Nature Walk--very easy, pretty, with diverse habitat.
