Hi all Not knowing about Gail Mackiernan's Connecticut Warbler having been seen until birding at Terrapin Park on Sunday 9 - 21 - 08 and seeing Dan H. we talked he mentioned a Connecticut seen there .We talked about the odds of relocating it as next to zero . He mentioned some warblers on the path to the south meadow near the far end . We took our leave to keep on birding . I went thru all the way to the south meadow seeing a number of birds but few warblers . I went on out to the bay took a quick scan and started back as I had to get home we had vistors coming in the early afternoon . I took the same path back to the parking area at about a quarter of the way in I noticed some warblers in the trees near were the two wooden foot bridges cross the wet areas . A male Redstart and some Northern Parulas were in the trees these birds soon moved off . I made five steps when I noticed a warbler near the ground on a tree limb on the right side of the path side and back of the bird profiled to me hunting for food than it went just over head high and disappeared . I had quick looks all pale yellow underneath,Bold white eye rings olive head and back . I did not get a good look at the throat but it did not have a white patch under the legs Two other birders seen on the first pass through mentioned a Nashville Warbler being there plus this looked to be bigger than that . So I think I had the Connecticut Warbler in view for a quick shot . A first for me other than at a banding station last fall .{ SORRY DAN}
