Everywhere I've lived, even in MN even in its nesting territory, this has
been a great bird to find. Usually difficult--a "skulker" as it's been
described--unless you hear its punchy often loud song.

Tim and all,

Based on our very extensive experience with this bird, we (Both Laura and I)
disagree. It readily pops up into a sparsely-leaved tree and sings long
enough to get out a scope and train it on the bird for several minutes.
Every Connecticut Warbler we have ever seen has done this.

Ok, so our "extensive experience" consists of one bird that we found with
some help from a Brit we ran into at Sax-Zim Bog in June. It was still quite
a thrill and when I started feeling hungry and thinking about lunch, I asked
Laura when she would be ready to move on toward a restaurant. Her answer was
typical for her. "I'm not going anywhere until this bird does."

Scoping out your first Conn Warb does that to some people.

PS - we also scoped a Sedge Wren up there. Anybody besides us impressed?
