Hi all.
Today at one of the Stormwater Ponds at the Gore sites off of Appleton Road in Elkton, I had a Pectoral Sandpiper and a Killdeer.
At the Stormwater Pond behind Williams Chevy in Elkton, there was a first year Little-blue Heron. Ruby crowned Kinglets were in good numbers
today in North East. I still have Blue Grosbeaks and Indigo Buntings at my work in the Mornings at the County Building in Elkton.
Yesterday I had 5 different Rose-breasted Grosbeaks calling from different locations across Cecil County. Most of which were in the Elkton Area.

Results from the "Sandpiper help" last week seems to be falling toward a first year Semipalmated Sandpiper. The general color of the back including the fresh over all plumage, the bill length and thickness at the base of the beak including the blunt tip. The only thing that seems to be throwing everyone off is the longer wing feathers. The primaries protrude past the tail feathers. Other than that, all other marks point to first year Semipalmated Sandpiper. Stints and Sanderlings have been considered, but all have been eliminated due to bill structure and plumage. Here is the link to that if anyone would like to still take a look at the Sandpiper.

Just for fun, I added a Photo quiz bird into the mix for today. I can post the results in a week or so on one of my next bird sighting reports. Follow the link, email me what you think.
