Perhaps if we could put a stop to this meaningless small game hunting you
would see more of them. If not because they might increase in numbers, but
perhaps because they may loose some of their fear towards humans.

With all the threats facing birds and other wildlife today: housing
developments, strip mining, windmills, power lines, pollution, global
warming etc., I feel that any hunting should be limited to and directed
towards "game" species that locally are out of control due to human
interference, such as white-tailed deer, nutria, sika deer, fox, Mute
Swans??, Canada and Snow Geese to mention a few. I mean, why allow rail
and quail hunting when we can't even keep the deer populations at bay
knowing all the damage and accidents they cause? After all, most of
today's hunting is for pure recreation and sport and therefore unjustified
killing in my mind.
