Early this morning I saw a Red-breasted Nuthatch in my yard in east Columbia. A little later in western Howard County there were four White-crowned Sparrows (two immature and two handsome adults) along the entrance road of the Woodmont Academy which is off Frederick Road (Rte 144), about a mile east of Route 97. Also at this location were a Killdeer, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, several Yellow-rumped Warblers, a yellow Palm Warbler, and a small flock of Savannah Sparrows.
