I spent about 1.5 hrs this morning at Hughes Hollow. Hghlights were:
Red-headed Woodpecker - two 1st year birds, in swamp at W end; missed Pileated so ended up with 6 woodpecker species
Blue-headed Vireo - in feeding flock nr sign board, really strong yellow-green tones, an extremely bright bird
Tennessee Warbler - single bird feeding in low tree next to sign board, giving great views
Palm Warbler - single or both varieties feeding next to each other
Yellow-rumped in big numbers
White-crowned Sparrow - single juvenile along main path; also Song (many birds, huge variety in appearance), Swamp, Field, White-throated, Junco, Towhee, Chipping
The Polo Ground had Horned Lark and E. Meadowlark.
Good birding
