Hi Folks!

Ed Boyd and I started Saturday 10/18 at Turkey Point.?Bird activity was pretty good until about 11 AM.? There were lots of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, some Golden-crowned Kinglets and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.? Ed heard a flyby Pine Siskin; I had a glimpse of a Lincoln's Sparrow. Both of us heard the electric call of a passing Dickcissel.? After that we headed to Worton and saw Ron Gutberlet leaving....we all saw 4 American Golden-Plover and checked a huge Redwing-Cowbird-Starling flock but found nothing of note.? A quick check of Great Oak Pond yieled roughly the same birds reported by Kevin Graff.? On the way bay north we checked Stemmer's Run WMA, but it was rather slow with a few White-corned Sparrows being noteable.? We later found an imm. Little Blue Heron at Bethel WMA near Chesapeake City.? Our final stop was sunset at Havre de Grace by Tydings Marina where low tide hrevealed nive flat and gulls and terns come in to roost.? Ed spotted an imm. Franklin's Gull [a much desired Harford County Bird for me].? Here are two lists:

Sunady morning we walked around Swan Harbor Farm Park until it became very windy.? There is a lot of excellent sparrow habitat and we probably missed a lot of birds.? Most of the impoundment was dry.? Vesper Sparrows nest locally in Harford, but the two we found were migrants.

On my way home there were 14 Snow Geese in the field by Herrington Harbor in Anne Aundel County.? One or two are found here most winters, and this is a new high count for me at this location.

Good Birding!
