A juvenile Golden Eagle was seen at the Cromwell Valley Park HawkWatch late Thursday afternoon at 4:01 pm. This bird made several slow circles as it flew along the south (BGE line) ridge, very similar to the flight of a juvenile GE I saw a couple years ago around the same time there. Almost as impressive was the late day Red-tailed hawk flight, with 24 birds counted in under 2 hours. The RTs were losing altitude and flying in a WSW direction, while the GE was heading in a more southerly direction.

CVP HawkWatch Totals 10/30/08 3:15 pm to 5:00 pm

Sharpies - 9
Coopers - 3
Redtails - 24
N. Harriers - 2
Golden Eagle - 1
