Traveling home from Brunswick along Lees Lane, i happened to stumble upon a field that seemed to be crawling with Killdeer yesterday (10/30) afternoon. I couldn't get an accurate count, but there were at least 2 dozen spread out over several large fields and there could easily have been 2x or 3x as many.  The field didn't look "special" in any way to me - not recently plowed, but also no sign of seeding having taken place.  Nearby fields were empty...
