Hello all,

This is my first message on MDOsprey. I am an avid birder and must make
a rather hurried move to the D.C. area. I was hoping some here might be
able to provide some guidance as to the best places to live for
birders. I am looking for an area that will either provide a nice
natural setting or view together with an impressive yard list, or be
close to a local birding hotspot.

I will be commuting to an area in the vicinity of American University,
so I was thinking somewhere in the Metro red line corridor stretching up
to Rockville and Shady Grove (with Rock Creek Regional Park nearby) or
somewhere on the north bank of the Potomac River anywhere between AU and
Potomac, Maryland, (with the C & O Canal nearby). If anyone has other
suggestions, or specific suggestions regarding apartment buildings in
these areas (I need just an apartment for myself), it would be greatly
appreciated. Please contact me OFF LIST at the e-mail address below.

Thanks in advance,
Jim Moore
