This afternoon (Sunday, 11/2) I went down to Old Town Alexandria to look
for the Great Cormorant that Gary A. & Frank H. saw yesterday. No luck
with the cormorant, but I did find 2 female BLACK SCOTERS in with a
flock of c.55 BUFFLEHEADS and 1 LESSER SCAUP. The birds would take wing
every once in a while, but still settled into the same area. The flock
was opposite the end of Wolfe St. in Old Town, fairly distant (but
working waters that span DC & PG County). There was also a PEREGRINE
sitting on rocks below Wilson Bridge.
