I visited the garden plots today just after a light rain started to fall. There were large flocks of robins and starlings with a few Cedar Waxwings mixed in, feeding on fruiting crabapple trees along the east side of the gardens. I heard a Gray Catbird call from some nearby thickets. Some Chipping Sparrows and Field Sparrows mingled with the more numerous goldfinches and juncos. A Yellow Palm Warbler and an Eastern Bluebird added some color to a gray day.
