The Baltimore Bird Club walked the old picnic area trail. We saw numerous
birds of the season. Highlights included Ruddy Duck (many), Pied-billed
Grebe, Osprey (getting late?), Pileated Woodpecker, Red-breasted Nuthatch
(heard only), Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Eastern Bluebird, Hermit Thrush,
Yellow-rumped Warbler, and Swamp Sparrow. Also some distant ducks that were
either Ring-necks or Scaup-probably Ring-necks at this location. I could
walk only part of the trip because of a lower back problem and so Tim
Houghton took over as leader after an hour. Thank you, Tim.
